I No Longer Have To Take A Statin!
I had some great news today. To make a long story short, doctors have always wanted me to be on a statin because of my own health history and my family history. My numbers sometimes are a little high, but then with diet and exercise I prove to the doctor I can get them down. And I've done that in the past. OK so we move here to a different state and the doctor I was seeing said that I needed to be on a statin ... it didn't matter what my cholesterol numbers were, but I needed to be on one because of the plaque. So I tried it, and I had the usual side effects, so I stopped taking it. I switched doctors and this doctor also wanted me to be on a statin. I told him I know I need to take blood pressure medicine. I know I need it but I don't know that I need to take a statin. So he ordered me to have an ultrasound of my carotid artery, and they did ultrasounds on both sides of my neck. And the results came back great! My doctor said the results were good so hopefully he's done arguing with me to take a statin. I hope next time my numbers will be even better than the previous ones. Grateful for the DLG lifestyle.
