If You Told Me 2yrs Ago That I Wouldn't Eat Sugar, I'd Have Laughed In Your Face
Hello everyone, I've been lurking in the shadows for several challenges. I stopped drinking soda more than a year ago. And I drastically reduced my sugar intake. I make better choices and I try to keep the 1% mantra in the back of my mind - always. However, this past week, I decided it would be ok for me to eat several pieces of Halloween candy. I did it in a controlled manner and I didn't overdo it, but the near-immediate headache that followed was a great reminder of why I have chosen to reduce my sugar intake. If you had told me 2 years ago that I wouldn't eat much sugar, I'd have laughed in your face <while taking a huge slurp of Dr. Pepper>. If I can give it up, so can you! I have suffered from migraine headaches since my teens (I am 58 now). I have tried every single drug on the market. Reducing my sugar has done more for my migraines than anything I've tried in 40 years. This lifestyle is worth the social sacrifice. I don't crave sugar. It was tough the first 8 weeks but I do not ever want to go back to my before DLG lifestyle. Good luck with this challenge. Do it for YOURSELF. One good decision at a time. It gets easier and it is more than worth it!
