I Have Now Been Over Two Weeks With No Meds

I Have Now Been Over Two Weeks With No Meds
Hello! I started with DLG in a free trial in Crew #53. I didn't really start the new eating program until Feb 11th and then have followed it faithfully. I began this journey due to health issues. I am currently in Heart Failure, have high blood sugar, high blood pressure, high Triglycerides, Osteopenia, Bursitis in my hips, and arthritis in knees, Cervical Kyphosis, and chronic Joint pain.It has become more and more difficult to walk. With any distance, I have to use a cane. I went in Heart Failure in May 2018 for the 2nd time. The first time was in 2012. After just changing my diet I was able to come out of it. I wasn't focused on toxins, just went gluten free, no sweets and no packaged food. I got married in 2014 and with 3 new steps kids and a sugar addicted husband I gave in to my old habits! My goal for Crew 53 was to learn all I could and began eating better. I spent the first couple of weeks studying, watching videos, and reading posts through DLG and learned a lot about the food we eat! I had starting cutting out sugar and snacks at that time but not completely on meal plan. I had just been given a new blood sugar medicine in January and I just didn't want to take another medicine. I advised my doctor I was not going to keep taking it and told her I WAS going to control my sugar with diet and exercise. I have now been over two weeks with no meds and I have kept it in control! I didn't realize just how much sugar I was eating in just fruits, veggies, and grains! The first 5-6 days off it, I felt like I had the flu but after that I am feeling better than ever and haven't had sugar meds in 16 days! My goals for Crew 54 are to be diligent on 10 minute exercises and more work on clean meats. Good news also, "Barry" my husband, has cut back on sweets, watched a few videos and is asking questions about foods! Next blood work on May 10th to see what 90 days of my new lifestyle will bring!
